Camp Objectives:

Students should, by the end of the course, be able to:

  • Crochet: Students will learn to chain, single crochet, a possibly double crochet.
  • Spin: Students will learn the fundamentals of how yarn is made, using a drop spindle.
  • Needle-felting: students will learn how to safely use a needle felting tool, and will make a needle felted landscape.
  • Punch Rug Work: Students will learn how to prepare, work and finish a small rug.

More Details:

This camp seeks to be an introduction to some of the lesser known or practiced fiberarts: crochet, spinning, needle felting and rugwork.  Intended to be a compliment or next step to the class String Theory, these are some fiberarts activities that will appeal to a slightly older audience.

At the end of the course students will be able to bring home their projects which will include a crochet project, spun yarn, a needle felted project, and a punch-rug project.
